Stamina in fiocco di poliestere e Poliestere “nautico”, la vera differenza!

Staple Polyester and "nautical" Polyester, the real difference!

When you want a flag that will last a long time, it's important to know what you are really buying.

For outdoor flags, especially in a marine context, it's easy to find promotions at very low prices in “nautical polyester”. It sounds good, but there's something we need to tell you:

the term nautical in this case does not indicate a real certification or a specific use: it's simply a trade name. It is, in fact, a lightweight polyester, often used for cheap or short-lived flags.

But why is it called nautical if it has nothing to do with it?

👉 Basically, the name serves to make the fabric appear more resistant and performant than it really is.
👉 However, there is no certification, technical standard, or marine specification that truly links it to nautical use.

In short: "nautical" is ONLY a catchy, commercial label!

What nautical polyester is (and what it isn't)

So-called nautical polyester is a fairly common synthetic fabric because:

  • it is lightweight, its weight is only 110 g/m²
  • it prints easily,
  • it costs less than more performant technical fabrics.

It is often chosen for promotional, economical flags and for short-term uses. "Nautical" polyester can be suitable for temporary uses, fairs, or quick setups. In fact, it is not designed to last long in difficult conditions such as those of the marine environment:

  • it fades more quickly,
  • it frays in the wind,
  • it cannot withstand salt spray and UV rays.

âš“ The real difference is called stamina!!!

For those who sail, work at sea, or display flags outdoors all year round, something else is needed: STAPLE POLYESTER STAMINA, a high-resistance technical fabric preferred for institutional, merchant, nautical, and custom flags intended to last over time.

  • it has a denser and more resistant weave → it billows well in the wind, ensuring a very dynamic yet elegant effect

  • maintains intense colors for a long time → colors penetrate the fibers, remaining bright even after months of intense summer sun

  • withstands wind and atmospheric agents → perfect for the marine environment because it dries quickly and is not afraid of humidity

In summary? It requires fewer replacements and less waste, the investment is guaranteed!

It's the ideal choice for virtually all types of flags, institutional, merchant, and custom, that need to last over time!
